Welcome Messages
Send personalized welcome content when members join.
How it works
Welcome messages support configurable content and rich message presentation in a selected channel when a member joins the server.
Before you start
- Choose a channel visible to new members.
- Allow Airwavy to view and send in the channel, including embeds or attachments used by the design.
Configure it
- Open Welcome Messages in the dashboard.
- Choose the destination and compose the message or embed using the available member and server placeholders.
- Save and test with a real join event; previews do not reproduce every Discord permission check.
Presentation and autorole
- Send plain content, a rich premium Components V2 message, or a generated welcome card.
- Generated cards include the standard layout on free servers, with premium classic, modern, and neon designs plus an eligible custom remote background.
- Welcome can also grant a configured autorole when Airwavy has Manage Roles and its role sits above the assigned role.
- Use the dashboard's test-send control to review the real Discord result; a short cooldown prevents repeated test messages.
Expected result
- Each eligible join produces one welcome message in the chosen channel.
- Supported placeholders are replaced with the joining member or server values.
Common errors
Placeholders appear as plain text
Use only placeholders offered by the dashboard editor and preserve their exact spelling and braces.
Saved changes do not take effect
Reload the feature page and confirm the saved values. Then verify that the selected Discord channel or role still exists and that Airwavy can access it.
Discord reports missing permissions
Check the permission on both the server role and the target channel. Channel overwrites and role hierarchy can deny an action even when the server-level permission is present.
