AFK System
Let members mark themselves away with an optional reason and image.
How it works
Members use /afk to set or inspect away status. Airwavy can surface the saved reason when that member is mentioned and provides personal AFK settings.
Before you start
- Decide whether AFK reasons should be allowed in all community channels.
- Make moderation expectations clear for user-provided text and images.
Configure it
- Open AFK System in the dashboard and review the server-level controls.
- Save the configuration, then run /afk set with a harmless test reason.
- Mention the AFK account and use /afk info to verify the status.
Return and mention behavior
- Eligible servers can apply an optional AFK role and automatically clear AFK status when the member next sends a message.
- Mention replies can summarize up to five AFK members found among the message's first ten mentions.
- When one AFK member is referenced, members can use the private leave-message or notify-when-back controls where available.
- Airwavy displays the member as text rather than re-pinging them in its AFK reply.
Plan options and privacy
- AFK role, automatic return, and mention-reply controls require premium or an eligible voter benefit.
- Premium adds an optional AFK nickname prefix and image support for richer away cards.
- Reasons and images are member-provided content visible wherever the AFK response is shown; moderate them like any other server content.
- Keep leave-message and return-notification use respectful, and do not treat AFK status as proof of availability or wellbeing.
Expected result
- The member is marked AFK until they return, clear, or replace that status according to the configured controls.
- Mentions can show the stored reason, and /afk info reports status details.
Common errors
An AFK image or reason is rejected
Use supported attachment formats and keep the reason within Discord's command limits. Moderation rules still apply to user-provided content.
Saved changes do not take effect
Reload the feature page and confirm the saved values. Then verify that the selected Discord channel or role still exists and that Airwavy can access it.
Discord reports missing permissions
Check the permission on both the server role and the target channel. Channel overwrites and role hierarchy can deny an action even when the server-level permission is present.
