Farewell Messages

Send a configured message after a member leaves.

How it works

#

Farewell messages announce member departures in a selected channel using configurable message content.

Before you start

#
  • Choose a staff or community channel for departures.
  • Allow Airwavy to view and send in the destination.

Configure it

#
  1. Open Farewell Messages in the dashboard.
  2. Choose the destination channel and compose the farewell content with supported placeholders.
  3. Save and test using a disposable account if your community policy allows it.

Presentation and testing

#
  • Send plain content, a rich premium Components V2 message, or a generated farewell card.
  • Generated cards include the standard layout on free servers, with premium classic, modern, and neon designs plus an eligible custom remote background.
  • Use only the placeholders shown by the dashboard and avoid presenting a departure as a moderation action unless staff have confirmed that context.
  • Use the test-send control to check the final message and attachment permissions; a short cooldown prevents repeated test messages.

Expected result

#
  • A departure produces a single farewell message in the configured channel.
  • Available member and server placeholders are substituted before sending.

Verification

Test with a normal member account. Owners and administrators can bypass restrictions that ordinary members experience.

Common errors

#
No message appears after a member leaves

Confirm the feature is saved, the destination still exists, and Airwavy has View Channel and Send Messages there.

Saved changes do not take effect

Reload the feature page and confirm the saved values. Then verify that the selected Discord channel or role still exists and that Airwavy can access it.

Discord reports missing permissions

Check the permission on both the server role and the target channel. Channel overwrites and role hierarchy can deny an action even when the server-level permission is present.
