Moderation
Configure staff roles and use Airwavy's moderation case tools safely.
How it works
Airwavy's moderation suite covers bans, kicks, timeouts, voice moderation, warnings, role changes, channel locks, pruning, and auditable cases.
Before you start
- Place Airwavy's role above every member role it must moderate.
- Grant only the Discord permissions needed by the moderation actions you plan to use.
- Choose staff roles whose members are allowed to operate the suite.
Configure it
- Open your server in the dashboard and choose Moderation.
- Add or review the staff roles and moderation settings, then save the form.
- Run a low-impact command such as /warnings against a test account before using destructive actions.
Staff access and cases
- Assign only the moderation roles that should operate Airwavy, then choose whether each role can warn, timeout, kick, ban, softban, or manage cases.
- Moderation actions create case context that authorized staff can inspect with /case and member warning history with /warnings.
- Enable a private moderation-log channel if staff need a shared record of Airwavy actions.
- Discord permissions and role hierarchy are enforced in addition to Airwavy's staff-role rules.
Warning points and deterministic automation
- Premium warning points can assign different point values to warnings, timeouts, kicks, and softbans, with a configured maximum.
- Anti-ghost-ping protection is a deterministic moderation control and operates independently of AI-assisted review.
- Start with conservative point values and document what staff should do at each threshold.
- Use Discord's Audit Log and Airwavy cases to review an action before correcting a member's record.
Airwavy AI Security
Airwavy AI Security is a premium, opt-in second-opinion layer for suspicious candidate messages. Deterministic signals run first, and only candidates such as scam-like links, configured phrases, spam, mass mentions, suspicious attachments, or activity in designated high-risk channels are considered for assisted review.
- Choose Alert staff only for an advisory workflow, or Delete confirmed unsafe messages for carefully confirmed destructive action.
- Optional escalation asks for stronger confirmation on serious or ambiguous results before deletion.
- Configure a private alert channel and the staff roles allowed to use alert actions.
- Choose the enabled safety categories, candidate phrases, high-risk channels, ignored channels or roles, webhook handling, and scoring thresholds.
- The 14 available categories cover violence and threats; scams, fraud, and illegal activity; sexual harm; child safety; extortion; high-impact advice; privacy exposure; piracy; dangerous weapons; hate or harassment; self-harm; sexual content; election misinformation; and malware or cyber abuse.
- AI Security never bans, kicks, or times out members. A delete action still requires the configured confirmation path and Discord permission.
Moderation audit coverage
Premium moderation audit settings can route selected message, member, channel, and role changes to a private staff channel. Use the broader Logging guide for the full product-wide audit catalogue.
Expected result
- Authorized staff can use the configured moderation commands.
- Actions create moderation cases that can be inspected with /case.
- Discord role hierarchy remains the final authority for whether an action succeeds.
Common errors
A target cannot be moderated
Move Airwavy's role above the target's highest role and verify the command-specific permission, such as Ban Members or Moderate Members.
Saved changes do not take effect
Reload the feature page and confirm the saved values. Then verify that the selected Discord channel or role still exists and that Airwavy can access it.
Discord reports missing permissions
Check the permission on both the server role and the target channel. Channel overwrites and role hierarchy can deny an action even when the server-level permission is present.
