Join to Create
Create temporary personal voice channels when members join a source channel.
How it works
When a member joins the configured source voice channel, Airwavy creates a personal temporary voice channel and removes it after the last member leaves.
Before you start
- Create the source voice channel members will join.
- Allow Airwavy to manage and move members in the destination category.
Configure it
- Open Join to Create in the dashboard.
- Select the source voice channel and the category for temporary channels.
- Choose the available naming, member-limit, and owner-control options, save, then join the source channel to test.
Plan options and member controls
- Free servers can configure one source channel using the default channel name, with no generated-channel member limit or owner controls.
- Premium supports multiple source channels, a custom name template, a member limit from unlimited through 99, and optional temporary-channel owner controls.
- When premium owner controls are enabled, the member who created the temporary channel can manage that channel and its members within Discord's permission rules.
- Each member can own one active temporary channel at a time.
Channel lifecycle and permissions
- Airwavy needs Manage Channels to create and remove temporary channels and Move Members to place the joining member inside.
- Temporary channels are removed after they become empty; Airwavy also cleans up saved channels that no longer exist.
- Choose a destination category whose permission overwrites give members the voice access you intend.
- Test creation, member movement, owner controls, and empty-channel cleanup with a normal member account.
Expected result
- The joining member is moved into a newly created personal channel.
- The temporary channel is deleted automatically after it becomes empty.
Common errors
A channel is created but the member is not moved
Grant Move Members and make sure Airwavy can connect to both the source and generated voice channels.
Saved changes do not take effect
Reload the feature page and confirm the saved values. Then verify that the selected Discord channel or role still exists and that Airwavy can access it.
Discord reports missing permissions
Check the permission on both the server role and the target channel. Channel overwrites and role hierarchy can deny an action even when the server-level permission is present.
