Roblox Linking

Link a Roblox account, display it on profiles, and sync nicknames or Discord roles by Roblox group rank.

How it works

#

Roblox Linking connects a member's Roblox account to their Airwavy identity through Roblox's own sign-in flow, from either the /roblox Discord command or the dashboard profile page. A member can link more than one Roblox account and choose which one is active at any time.

Before you start

#
  • No server setup is required for a member to link their own account.
  • Server Premium is required only for group-rank role sync, requiring a link to pass verification, or showing a member's Roblox account in support tickets.

Configure it

#
  1. A member runs /roblox in Discord, or opens their profile in the dashboard, and signs in with Roblox.
  2. To enable nickname sync or the Premium group-rank features, open Roblox Sync in the dashboard for that server and configure it.
  3. For group-rank roles, enter the Roblox group ID and map minimum group ranks to Discord roles, then save.

Linking and switching accounts

#
  • Use /roblox in Discord to see linked accounts, link another, switch which one is active, or unlink one.
  • Linking uses Roblox's own sign-in page — Airwavy never sees or stores a Roblox password.
  • Only the active account is displayed and used for nickname or role sync; switching takes effect immediately.
  • One Roblox account can only be linked to one Discord identity at a time.

What's free and what's Premium

#
  • Free on any server: linking, switching, unlinking, and showing the active Roblox account on a profile.
  • Free per-server toggle: sync a member's server nickname to their active Roblox account's display name.
  • Server Premium: automatic Discord roles based on Roblox group rank, requiring a linked account to pass verification, and showing a member's linked Roblox account when they open a support ticket.

Group-rank roles

#
  • Map one or more minimum group ranks to Discord roles; a member is granted the highest-ranked role they currently qualify for, and any lower-tier role from this mapping is removed.
  • A member who leaves the configured Roblox group loses every role from this mapping.
  • Airwavy needs Manage Roles and a role positioned above every role in the mapping.
  • Group-rank roles only apply to a member with an active linked Roblox account.

A natural fit for Roblox game studios

Combine group-rank roles with the ticket Roblox-info display so support staff can see a player's Roblox identity without asking for it.

Expected result

#
  • A linked account appears on the member's profile in both /profile and the dashboard.
  • With nickname sync enabled, a member's server nickname updates to match their active Roblox account's display name.
  • With group-rank roles configured on a Premium server, a member's Discord roles update to match their current Roblox group rank, either automatically on a periodic check or immediately using Sync This Server.

Verification

Test with a normal member account. Owners and administrators can bypass restrictions that ordinary members experience.

Common errors

#
A member's roles don't update after a group-rank change

Role sync runs periodically rather than instantly; use Sync This Server in Discord for an immediate check. Confirm the group ID is correct and that Airwavy's role sits above every role it needs to grant in the server's role list.

Saved changes do not take effect

Reload the feature page and confirm the saved values. Then verify that the selected Discord channel or role still exists and that Airwavy can access it.

Discord reports missing permissions

Check the permission on both the server role and the target channel. Channel overwrites and role hierarchy can deny an action even when the server-level permission is present.
