Personal Reminders
Create, list, and cancel private reminder requests with reliable Discord delivery fallback.
How it works
The /reminder command saves a personal reminder for a future time. At delivery, Airwavy tries a direct message first and falls back to the Discord channel where the reminder was created if direct messages are unavailable.
Before you start
- Choose reminder text that is safe to appear in the original channel if your direct messages are closed.
- Keep the reminder ID returned by Airwavy if you may need to cancel it.
Configure it
- Run /reminder set with a duration such as 20m, 3h, 2d, or 1w and text of up to 500 characters.
- Use /reminder list to review your active reminders and their IDs.
- Use /reminder cancel with the saved ID to cancel one before delivery.
Reminder limits
- Free users can keep up to 5 active reminders; premium raises this to 25.
- Reminder text is limited to 500 characters.
- Durations range from 1 minute to 30 days on free servers or 90 days with premium.
- Accepted units include common minute, hour, day, and week abbreviations or words.
Delivery and privacy
- Creating, listing, and cancelling reminders uses private command responses.
- The delivered reminder prefers a direct message, but the original server channel is the fallback when direct messages are unavailable.
- Only the reminder owner is allowed to cancel its ID.
- If both delivery routes are temporarily unavailable, Airwavy keeps the saved reminder for its retry process instead of treating it as delivered.
Expected result
- Reminder management responses are visible only to the requester.
- At the due time, Airwavy sends the reminder by direct message or, if that fails, in the original channel with only the requester mentioned.
Common errors
A duration is rejected
Use one whole-number duration with minutes, hours, days, or weeks. The minimum is 1 minute; the maximum is 30 days on free servers or 90 days with premium.
Saved changes do not take effect
Reload the feature page and confirm the saved values. Then verify that the selected Discord channel or role still exists and that Airwavy can access it.
Discord reports missing permissions
Check the permission on both the server role and the target channel. Channel overwrites and role hierarchy can deny an action even when the server-level permission is present.
