Airwavy runs two separate AI systems, not one. AI Chatbot is a conversational assistant that responds to an Airwavy mention or in a configured channel, holds short-term memory scoped to each member and server, reads attached images, and — on Premium — searches the web for current information with cited sources.
AI Moderation is a safety classification layer, not a chat feature: it reviews candidates that deterministic signals already flagged across 14 categories, and only ever alerts staff or deletes a confirmed-unsafe message. It never bans, kicks, or times out anyone.
Both systems apply fixed safety instructions regardless of configuration — a custom chatbot personality can't override them, and AI Moderation's role stays a second opinion layered on top of Airwavy's regular moderation tools, never a replacement for them.
