About Amir Alomar - Founder and CEO of Airwavy
Meet Amir Alomar, the founder and CEO behind Airwavy. Learn about his career as a full-stack developer and programming instructor, and the vision driving one of Discord’s most reliable platforms.
Hi, I'm Amir Alomar. I started Airwavy in August 2021 and I still write code for it most days. I'm a full-stack developer and a programming instructor based in London.
What I built
Airwavy is an all-in-one Discord bot and web platform. Moderation, music, an AI chatbot, an economy system, tickets, giveaways, levelling, verification, backups.
The idea came from a simple annoyance. Server owners were running five or six separate bots to cover the basics, each with its own dashboard, its own outages and its own subscription. One bot should be able to handle all of it and handle it properly. That's what Airwavy set out to be.
It now runs in thousands of servers and reaches more than a million users. The core features are free and always will be. Premium starts at £5 a month per server for the advanced tooling like full server backups, premium anti-raid and advanced ticketing.
How it's built
I'm responsible for the whole platform: the bot, the website, the dashboard and the backend services.
The bot runs on TypeScript and Bun, with MongoDB for storage, Redis for caching and rate limiting, and Docker for deployment. The website and dashboard are Next.js, React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS. I use Go and Node.js where they're the better fit.
Most of the work is in the unglamorous parts. Sharding, rate limits, making sure a config change in the dashboard actually reaches the bot without a restart, keeping response times low when a raid hits a large server at 3am. Features are what people notice when they invite the bot. Reliability is what makes them keep it.
Teaching
Since September 2025 I've taught programming at public and private schools around London with Jam Coding. Game development, robotics, ethical hacking, and the basics of writing something that actually runs.
Teaching has made me a better builder. When you have to explain an idea to a ten-year-old, you find out fast which parts of your own thinking are vague.
Other work
Outside Airwavy I take on client builds. Top Cars is a recent one, a fast responsive site in Next.js and Tailwind CSS.
Why my name is on this page
A lot of Discord bots are run anonymously. That works fine until something goes wrong, and then nobody knows who to talk to.
Airwavy handles your server's configuration, your moderation logs and your members' data. You should be able to see who is behind it, what they've built before and how to reach them. That's the only reason this page exists.
